Privacy Policy

What ChainwatchCrypto collects, why we collect it, who can see it, and how long we keep it. Written to be read rather than to be defensible.

How does ChainwatchCrypto handle personal data?

The privacy policy sets out what ChainwatchCrypto collects, why, how long it is retained, and who processes it. It also states what is never collected: seed phrases, private keys and wallet credentials. Case data is handled under confidentiality, and processors are bound by contract rather than by informal assurance.

Who we are

ChainwatchCrypto provides blockchain intelligence and digital-asset investigation services. This policy covers chainwatchcrypto.com and the customer, investigator and administrative applications hosted on it.

What we collect

Account information. Name, email address, hashed password, authentication factors and account preferences.

Case information. Everything you submit in a case: transaction hashes, addresses, chains, assets, amounts, dates, your description of the incident, and any evidence you upload.

Correspondence. Messages exchanged with us inside a case, and enquiries sent through contact forms.

Technical information. IP address, user agent, session identifiers, and security events such as sign-in attempts and device changes.

Billing information. Where an engagement is chargeable, invoice and payment status records. Card details, where card payment is offered, are handled by the payment processor and are not stored by us.

What we never collect

We do not ask for and will never store seed phrases, recovery words, private keys or wallet credentials. No field for them exists anywhere in this platform, and no member of staff will ever request them. If you have sent any to anybody, treat the affected wallet as compromised.

Why we process it

  • To provide the investigation or platform service you have engaged us for.
  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
  • To communicate with you about your case or account.
  • To meet legal obligations, including record retention where applicable.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse of the platform.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use case data for advertising.

Who can see your case

Access is least-privilege and enforced server-side. Within ChainwatchCrypto, a case is visible to the investigator assigned to it, the supervisors responsible for that queue, and administrators whose role requires it. Every access to case and identity information is written to an append-only audit record.

We disclose case information outside ChainwatchCrypto only where you instruct us to, where you have authorised us to support your counsel or a law-enforcement referral, or where we are legally required to.

Processors

We use third parties for hosting, encrypted object storage, email delivery, blockchain data and, where applicable, payment processing. Each is bound by contract to process data only on our instructions. Blockchain data providers receive addresses and transaction identifiers for lookup; they do not receive your identity.

Retention

Account records are kept while your account is open. Case records, evidence and reports are kept for the retention period stated in your engagement, because an investigation that cannot be reconstructed later is of limited use to you. Security and audit logs are kept for the period required for security and legal purposes.

You may request deletion; where a legal obligation or a live matter requires retention, we will tell you what is being retained and why rather than deleting silently.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Write to privacy@chainwatchcrypto.com and we will respond within the period applicable to your jurisdiction.

International transfers

Where information is transferred across borders, it is transferred under appropriate safeguards. Storage region can be agreed as part of a platform agreement; ask during scoping if you have a specific requirement.

Security

Controls are described in the Security Center. In summary: encryption in transit, encrypted storage of evidence, hashed passwords, multi-factor authentication, role-based access, rate limiting and comprehensive audit logging.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will tell account holders directly rather than relying on a changed date at the top of a page.

Questions about your data?

Write to the legal route and we will answer specifically rather than pointing you back at this page.
